Flower delivery service Teleflora has joined the Super Bowl fray with a spot that reminds male viewers that Valentines Day is right around the corner. The humorous spot warns against sending boxed flowers, saying “Don’t send flowers in a box. You don’t know what they’ll say.” In the spot, which takes place in an office setting, a box of flowers asks a woman if she’s ever considered rhinoplasty.
According to Mediaweek, the last floral company to buy time in the Super Bowl was FTD nearly two decades ago. Lynda Resnick, owner of Teleflora parent company Roll International, said, “Sixty percent of the flowers today are delivered in a box. Our flowers are hand-designed and hand-delivered right to your doorstep. That’s the difference.”
