History Channel buys SB ad to promote “Swamp People”

In my opinion (and the opinion of millions of others), “Pawn Stars” is the best show on the History Channel. The History Channel might agree, but they’re putting $3.5 million behind “Swamp People” with the purchase of a 30-second ad promoting the series in this year’s Super Bowl.

Don’t get too excited, because “Swamp People” isn’t nearly as cool as it sounds. Instead of being about mutated, flesh-eating, half-human swamp creatures who feast on unsuspecting campers, it’s a show about mostly normal humans who live in a swamp and drink lots of beer. I’ve never actually seen the show, so I can’t say for sure if the subjects drink lots of beer, but I’m assuming they do because they live in a freakin’ swamp.
