Sandwich king Subway has entered the ad game with a 30-second ad featuring a line-up of stars and athletes congratulating Subway spokesman Jared on keeping the weight off for 15 years. A pre-released version of the spot is below. It’s the first Big Game ad for Subway since 2005.

Stars include “The Office” star Brian Baumgartner, Los Angeles Clippers power forward Blake Griffin, Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III, boxer Laila Ali, speed skater Apolo Ohno, Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout, and Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Ryan Howard, among others.

Will Bud’s Clydesdale spot win the game on Sunday?

Anheuser-Busch never releases its iconic Clydesdale spot before the Big Game, which is what makes their pre-release of this year’s spot so special. A word of warning: It’s a tear-jerker, which means you might see some grown men cry on Sunday (and we’re not just talking about Ray Lewis).

In our opinion, this is probably the best Clydesdale spot since Bud’s 9/11 tribute in 2002. What do you think?

Speed Stick enters Super Bowl fray; Ad pretty much stinks

Speed Stick is the latest company to announce its presence in Sunday’s ad lineup and they released their spot ahead of time (below).

I don’t mean to sound all negative and critical — my critiques of the Beck’s Sapphire and Pepsi Next spots haven’t been glowing — but this ad just isn’t that great. I mean, seriously, it’s deodorant. They could have done so much more with this spot, but they went with a guy picking up panties in a laundromat.

Whatever. It’s their $3.8 million, not mine.

Bud shows off Beck’s Sapphire spot

Anheuser-Busch is usually pretty tight-lipped when it comes to their Super Bowl ad plans, but this year they’ve given the green light to pre-release their Super Bowl spot for Beck’s Sapphire. Check it out below. I give it props for putting a twist on an old school tune from the 90s, but other than that, it’s just okay.

If someone can explain to me why a goldfish is serenading a bottle of beer and how a goldfish is supposed to make me want the beer, I might like it a little more.

Taco Bell Super Bowl spot shows the lighter side of retirement

Finally, a pre-game release worth getting excited about. In this spot for Taco Bell, a group of senior citizens sneak out of a retirement home to have a crazy night on the town. The premise is funny enough as it is, but Taco Bell scores bonus points for using the Spanish version of the song “We Are Young”, which made it big after being used in a Chevy ad during last year’s big game.

They played the hell out of that song on the radio, but I still get goose bumps when the music kicks in on that Chevy spot. Great ad.
